A Tribute to Rahul Dravid
In 2016, Dravid rejected BCCI’s offer to coach the Indian cricket team. “I requested Rahul Dravid to coach the Indian team. He didn't say no, but said that he will work for the junior team. That is the good thing about Dravid. He didn't go for the senior team post, big money and all. He wanted to work for the junior cricketers and not the senior team. I can only do short-term assignments, I can't stay away from home for long periods of time, short assignments suit me better,” the then BCCI president Anurag Thakur was quoted as saying by Zee News.
In 2017, Dravid declined a Bangalore University Hon. degree, saying he would like to earn a doctorate by accomplishing some academic research in sport. Dravid truly is a gentleman that current Indian cricket needs! Happy Birthday, Dravid!
