In a video captured by Ashwin, the Notts players look ecstatic watching the thriller. The players, which also included England legend Broad, were thrilled to see England mount a comeback into the final despite losing early wickets. England eventually went to win the game on count of hitting more boundaries than New Zealand.
The video starts at a time when the final over was on. Trent Boult was bowling it and England needed 15 runs to secure victory. Ben Stokes – who kept England alive in the game until then – was on strike and played two straight dot ball before smashing the third for a towering six that drew rapturous celebrations from the crowd.

But it was the fourth delivery – which fetched the host team another six runs – that send the ground rolling inside the Nottinghamshire dressing room. The players screamed and cheered as Martin Guptill’s throw deflected off Stokes gloved left hand to run away to the boundary fence gifting England six runs.
The incident drew the loudest applause from the Notts players present in the dressing room with Stuart Broad going crazy in his celebrations as soon as the ball ran away to the ropes. Meanwhile, Ashwin calmly recorded the video. At the time of the celebrations was live on Facebook. Brad also later shared the video on his Twitter handle and captioned it as “1 in a million” type.
