South African wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock pulled off a spectacular catch to dismiss Soumya Sarkar from the bowling off Chris Morris. Sarkar, looking to keep the run-rate flowing gloved a bouncer from Morris, only to find De Kock leap forward and take a good catch to end his time at the crease. The 26-year-old was having a great time at the crease having already smashed nine fours en route his 42 runs off 29 deliveries. But a sudden bouncer from Morris, who was bowling round the wicket, rose a bit extra than Sakar would have liked. He, however, went ahead with the pull but managed to only glove it. Sniffing an opportunity, De Kock charged forward and dived full-length to hold on to the catch.

Meanwhile, South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to field but Bangladesh has so far made most of that decision. The opening pair of Tamim Iqbal (16) and Sarkar stitched a 60-run opening partnership before the duo of Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim added another 142 runs between themselves to put Bangladesh in a comfortable position.

At the time of writing this story, Bangladesh are well-placed at 222/3 at the end of 36 overs. Andile Phehlukwayo, Chris Morris and Imran Tahir have taken a wicket each for South Africa.
