The buzz around the ongoing controversy over Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul’s sexist comments on Koffee With Karan 6 has seen yet another twist. The SC-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) member Diana Edulji, voicing her opinion said that there should not be any hurry in the enquiry against the tainted duo, as it will look like a cover-up job.

The following statement comes as a contradictory view to fellow CoA member Vinod Rai. Edulji said, “We should be in no hurry to conduct the inquiry as it would then look like a cover-up job being done,” on the impending enquiry on Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul. Hardik Pandya Loses Sponsorship Deal With Gillette After His Misogynist Comments on Koffee With Karan Season 6 Show.

Earlier, she had raised eyebrows criticising interim BCCI CEO Rahul involvement in the entire fiasco. Edulji had accused the BCCI CEO of unprofessionalism and that he was also alleged of sexual misconduct in the widespread #MeToo movement, a while back. BCCI Suspends Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul Ahead of Ind vs Aus ODI Series, Troubled Duo Likely to Return Home.

On the other hand, CoA member Vinod Rai has said that he wanted the proceedings and inquiry to get over quickly as opposed to Edulji’s stand. As per a report in India Today, Rai said, “We must take a view by the time second ODI gets over as we cannot afford to debilitate team strength due to delinquent behaviour on the part of some player.”

With Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul being suspended till further action is announced, the Indian selectors named Vijay Shankar and Shubhman Gill as their replacements in the Indian squad for the remaining two ODIs. Vijay Shankar to Replace Hardik Pandya in Australia, Shubman Gill Included for New Zealand ODI Series.

Both Edulji and Rai have been at loggerheads in crucial decisions in the last few months. Be it, Harmanpreet Kaur-Mithali Raj-Ramesh Powar issue, or BCCI CEO Rahul Johri’s alleged sexual misconduct, to the current Hardik Pandya-KL Rahul episode – the top members of the CoA have had a difference of opinions for quite a long time now. It will be interesting to see to where and how do things take place in the ongoing controversy.
