There have been some fine spells of bowling in the Indian Premier League so far, with the race for the Purple cap heating up. Read on to check out the list of bowlers with the most wickets in IPL 2023.
Mohammed Shami has won the Purple Cap award in IPL 2023 with a total of 28 wickets to his name in 17 matches. The Gujarat Titans pacer is followed by his colleague in Mohit Sharma, who is second on this list with 27 wickets to his name. He is again followed by Gujarat Titans' star Rashid Khan, who took 27 wickets this season as well. Mumbai Indians' Piyush Chawla and Rajasthan Royals' Yuzvendra Chahal finished fourth and fifth on this list, respectively. Last season, Rajasthan Royals’ Yuzvendra Chahal won the Purple Cap as he finished the season with an impressive 27 wickets. Chahal picked one five-wicket haul and as many four-wicket hauls with a strike rate of 15.11. The spinner ended the season with an economy of 7.75. In the past, CSK’s Dwayne Bravo and SRH’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar have both won the Purple Cap twice. Interestingly, Bhuvneshwar happens to be the only bowler to win two back-to-back Purple Caps.
