Ahead of the 2019 edition, we have listed below some of the records and stats of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is in its fourth season. PSL started in 2016 and since then is growing in terms of quality entertainment cricket. Players from all over the world, barring India, have participated in the T20 league. PSL has mostly taken place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Off-late Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been successful in hosting some matches in Pakistan, particularly the finals of the second and third edition. The PSL 2019 will witness few round-robin matches in Pakistan apart from the playoffs. PSL 2019 kicks off on February 14 in Dubai with a formal opening ceremony preceding the Islamabad United vs Lahore Qalandars match. Islamabad United come into the PSL 2019 as the defending champions. The final of PSL 2019 will be played in Karachi on March 17.
For the first time, former South African star AB de Villiers will participate in the PSL. The right-handed batsman will represent Lahore Qalandars and has agreed to travel to Pakistan as well for the matches. Highest Total in PSL: 203/8 in 20 overs by Quetta Gladiators is the highest team total in PSL history. Gladiators achieved the feat in the inaugural edition while chasing against Lahore Qalandars. The second highest total of 202/5 belongs to Gladiators as well, which interestingly came against Qalandars while chasing.
Lowest Total in PSL: 59/10 is the lowest team in PSL history. In 2017 edition, Lahore Qalandars were bundled out in just 10.2 overs against Peshawar Zalmi. Interestingly, Zalmi’s lost seven wickets in chase of 60 runs.
Biggest Wins in PSL: Last season, Quetta Gladiators defeated Karachi Kings by 67 runs to register the biggest win in terms of runs in PSL. Chasing 181, Karachi Kings were restricted to 113/8.
Most Runs in PSL: Kamran Akmal is the leading run-scorer in PSL’s history. The right-handed batsman playing for Peshawar Zalmi has scored 929 runs in 34 matches. Babar Azam is second on the list with 708 runs.
Highest Individual Score in PSL: During the inaugural edition, Sharjeel Khan smashed 117 runs off just 62 balls. It remains the highest score by a batsman in PSL. Khan’s blistering innings came for Islamabad United against Peshawar Zalmi and it was also the first century in PSL history.
Most 50+ Scores in PSL: Kamran Akmal has registered most 50+ scores in PSL. Akmal has on eight occasions gone past the 50-run mark, which includes two centuries. Babar Azam has mangled to surpass the 50-run mark six times, though he has not scored a century.

Most Ducks in PSL: Not just the famous ones, Kamran Akmal holds the infamous batting records as well. The right-hander has been dismissed on a duck five times, the most in the league’s history.
Most Sixes in PSL: No prizes for guessing, Kamran Akmal holds the record of most sixes hit in PSL. The Peshawar Zalmi batsman has smashed 49 sixes. Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson is second on the list with 43 sixes.
Most Wickets in PSL: Wahab Riaz leads the list of most wickets in PSL. The fast-bowler has scalped 48 wickets from 32 matches while playing for Peshawar Zalmi. Islamabad United’s Mohammad Sami is second on the list.
Best Bowling Figures in PSL: Ravi Bopara’s 6/16 during the inaugural season remain the best bowling figures in PSL. He achieved the feat while playing for Karachi Kings against Lahore Qalandars. Umar Gul’s 6/24 against Quetta Gladiators occupies the second spot.

Most Catches in PSL: If Kamran Akmal holds the record of most catches by a wicketkeeper, his brother Umar Akmal owns the record of most catches by a non-wicketkeeper. The junior Akmal has taken 15 catches.
Highest Partnership in PSL: 153 runs between Shane Watson and Sharjeel Khan is the highest partnership for any wicket in PSL. The duo achieved the feat while opening the innings for Islamabad United against Lahore Qalandars in 2016 edition of PSL.
Most Matches in PSL: With 34 games, Kamran Akmal leads the list of most matches in PSL. Akmal has played all these matches for one franchise- Peshawar Zalmi. Mohammad Hafeez is second on the list with 33 matches, he has played all his matches for Zalmi’s as well. This year Hafeez will be representing Lahore Qalandars.
Most Title Wins in PSL: Islamabad United have won the most titles in PSL. The franchise lifted the trophy in the inaugural edition, apparently for the first time and second time in the last season. Peshawar Zalmi is the only other team apart from Islamabad United to win PSL. Zalmi’s won the trophy in 2017. Quetta Gladiators have finished as runners-up twice.
