The beauty of sports is that it allows fans to show their emotions. The celebration or dejection is hardly hidden on a fan’s face. Just like many other sports or cricket leagues around the world, Pakistan Super League (PSL) has got fans involved as well. Interestingly, a picture of a girl donning Quetta Gladiators’ jersey, one of the teams in PSL, was seen crying after her team lost the match. Her pictures have now gone viral and are all over the internet. Gladiators, who made it to the final of PSL in last two seasons, faced a one-run defeat against Peshawar Zalmi in Lahore and thus were eliminated from the tournament. The young fan couldn’t hold her emotions and cried after Gladiators lost the match.
As per a Pakistan based website, parhlo.com, the girl is the niece of Quetta Gladiators’ owner Naeem Omar. This was not the only time she was seen crying, in a couple of matches before the Eliminator the girl showed similar emotions.
What made the girl cry was the fact that the match was a closely fought one. Needing 25 off last over, Gladiators batsman Anwar Ali smashed Liam Dawson for 22 runs on the first five balls. Thus, bringing the hope on otherwise gloom faces. Needing three off the last ball, Ali managed only one run and Gladiators eventually lost the match.
We all feel sad for this girl.
