PSL 2018: Pakistan Army’s Helicopter Used to dry up Outfield Ahead of Karachi Kings vs Peshawar Zalmi Eliminator, Watch Video

Pakistan Army’s helicopter was seen hovering over the outfield of Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. However, the helicopter dropped in not for some security reason, but to assist the groundsmen who were up with a task to dry up the wet outfield ahead of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018 Eliminator match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi. Lahore, the venue for PSL 2018 playoffs, witnessed rains yesterday and today as well. While the rains had no impact on yesterday’s contest, the second Eliminator was subsequently reduced to 16 overs per side after the groundsmen took time to dry the outfield. Meanwhile, Karachi Kings won the toss and opted to bowl. The winner of this contest will take on Islamabad United in the PSL 2018 final on March 25. Islamabad defeated Karachi Kings in the Qualifier to make a direct entry into the finals.

After the league stage and Qualifier in UAE, the PSL returned to Pakistan. After successfully hosting the final in Lahore last year, it was announced that this season three matches will be played in Pakistan- the two Eliminators in Lahore and the final in Karachi.
Defending champions Peshawar Zalmi played the first Eliminator against Quetta Gladiators and defeated the by one run in a closely fought contest to stay alive in the tournament.
Ahead of this contest, fast bowler, Mohammad Amir was named as Karachi Kings’ captain. The team is facing some injury concerns and thus Amir was handed the captaincy duty. Imad Wasim was already out due to a head injury, Shahid Afridi was ruled out earlier today following a knee injury. Mukhtar Ahmed, Zulfiqar Babar, and Danish Aziz were added to the Karachi Kings squad.
