Prithvi Shaw Selected in Indian Squad: Sachin Tendulkar Had Predicted The Young Cricketer To Represent India 10 Years Ago
With Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) deciding to infuse young blood in the Indian, Prithvi Shaw and Hanuma Vihari were added in India’s squad for the 4th and 5th Test.
It is often said, if cricket is religion in India, Sachin Tendulkar is its God. And if God foresees something, can anyone but him stop it from happening? In a recent interaction with fans on his 100MB mobile app, the Master Blaster had predicted, ten years ago, that Prithvi Shaw will play for India, one day.
After seeing Shaw for the first time, Tendulkar had a session with the then 8-year-old Shaw. His friend had asked him to analyse’ Shaw’s game and if there could be anything the young cricketer could follow to improve his skills.
The former Indian cricketer was so much so impressed with the 8-year-old Prithwi Shaw’s technique that he had predicted that the young boy would represent India in coming years.
Talking to the fans on his mobile app, Tendulkar said, “Ten years ago, one of my friends asked me to take a look at a young Prithvi. He asked me to analyse his game and see if there anything he could work on. I had a session with him and gave a couple of pointers on how to improve his game. I told my friend later that he is going to go on and play for India."
With Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) deciding to infuse young blood in the Indian, Prithvi Shaw and Hanuma Vihari were added in India’s squad for the 4th and 5th Test. And if luck is to follow Shaw in the coming week, he might as well make debut for India in England, something along the lines of how Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly began their careers.
With India 2-1 down in the series, it will be a crucial match for the visitors, as a loss here, would mean a series loss for them. India vs England 4th Test match is scheduled to be played from August 30, at Southampton. Stay tuned with us for all the latest updates about India vs England Test Series here.
