Prithvi Shaw has been nothing short of sensational since his return to action after the doping ban. The Mumbai-born cricketer has scored a fantastic 84-ball century on his return to first-class cricket against Baroda in a Ranji Trophy Match. Playing for Mumbai, the youngster missed out on a ton in the first innings as he was bowled by Abhimanyusingh Rajput on 66 but managed to achieve the milestone in the second innings. Shaw dominated the Baroda bowling from the get-go as he completed his ninth first-class century. The right-handed opener is surely making a good case for himself as India’s third Test opener for the upcoming series against New Zealand. Prithvi Shaw has not played for India since his debut in October last year. The Mumbai youngster was a part of the squad for the Australia series but was unable to take part because of an injury. His hopes of playing for India were further halted as he was banned in February 2019 for doping during a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match. The 20-year-old made his return in November for Mumbai against Assam in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy clash and wasted no time in getting his groove back. Prithvi’s fantastic knock has put Mumbai in a great position in this game as they 190/1 at lunch on Day 3 and the youngster is unbeaten on 122. Mumbai have a lead of 314 runs and will be looking to add more and put Baroda under some serious pressure. Mumbai Team were bowled out for 431 in the first innings in which Prithvi Shaw scored 66 off 62 deliveries along with half-centuries from Ajinkya Rahane, Shams Mulani and Shardul Thakur.
