After the first day was washed out due to unfavourable weather conditions, the second day of the first practise game saw a bright start, in the form of Prithvi Shaw, for the Indian cricket team. The young Indian opener showed no signs of nervousness and scored an eloquent half-century against Cricket Australia XI, on Thursday, in his first innings Down Under!
Opening the innings with KL Rahul at the other end, Prithvi Shaw struck a spectacular fifty in the first innings. Shaw scored 66 runs off only 69 balls in which he hit 11 magnificent boundaries. His innings had both class and confidence as he carted the Australian bowlers around the park with ease.
However, Shaw was bowled around his legs by leg-spinner Daniel Fallins. The youngster was seen crestfallen walking back to the dressing after being dismissed. Nonetheless, Shaw walked back only after he had announced his arrival in Australia!

Given the form that Prithvi Shaw is in, the signs are positive for the Indian team. However, KL Rahul faltered again after he was dismissed cheaply for only 3 runs. Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara, both scored fluent half-centuries too, before being dismissed. Ajinkya Rahane and Hanuma Vihari were at the crease, while the reports last came in; India had scored 260/4 after 62 overs.
