In a big blow to the India, dashing opener Prithvi Shaw has been ruled out of the first Test match against Australia, as per the update by the BCCI on his injury. India is scheduled to play their first game at Adelaide, starting December 6, and Shaw’s absence will be a massive dent to the Indian team plans ahead of the big game!
The statement released by the BCCI read, “Shaw underwent scans this morning and the reports revealed a lateral ligament injury. He will undergo an intensive rehabilitation program to hasten the recovery and be available for selection at the earliest.” The BCCI informed the same on their official Twitter account. BCCI wrote, “Prithvi Shaw ruled out of First Test against Australia in Adelaide.”

Earlier on the day three of the only practice match against Cricket Australia XI, Prithvi Shaw got injured on his left ankle badly. The incident happened in the 15th over the match, where Shaw was trying to catch a Max Bryant lofted shot at the deep midwicket boundary. Prithvi Shaw took the catch; however, it was his abrupt landing on his left ankle is what saw him tumble over the boundary ropes. The 19-year-old was searing pain and was carried off the field by the Indian physiotherapist Patrick Farhat and a support staff member.
