India's rising batting star, Prithvi Shaw turns 21 on Monday (November 9), and wishes are pouring in for him from all around the world. Touted to be the Next Sachin Tendulkar, Shaw's batting technique is quite identical to that of Master Blaster, and it will be interesting to see if he can match his standards or not. The right-handed batsman burst onto the scenes after scoring 546 in Mumbai's Harris Shield at the age of 14. Shaw took giant strides in domestic circuit by playing one brilliant knock. He even was the captain of the India Under-19 team which lifted the 2018 U-19 World Cup. Shaw also didn't take long in making a mark at the highest level as he scored 134 against West Indies on his Test debut. Though the youngster is still a rookie international cricket, he seems to have all the attributes to score runs in all conditions. Unlike most batsmen in modern-day cricket, Shaw likes to score runs with traditional and orthodox shots. 134 vs West Indies in 2018

The dasher made an absolute mockery of the Caribbean bowlers on his Test debut. Batting first in Rajkot, India were under the pump after losing KL Rahul in the third ball of the innings. However, a highly-confident Shaw backed his natural game and scored runs all over the park. He went on to score a sensational century as India posted a mountain of 649/9 (declared). The visitors couldn't make a comeback and eventually suffered an innings defeat.

Trent Boult, Tim Southee and Kyle Jamieson were breathing fire with the new ball during the second Test of India's 2020 tour of New Zealand. However, Shaw put up a great fight and scored a well-compiled half-century. Despite losing wickets regularly at another end, the youngster scored runs at a rapid pace. His efforts, however, went in vain as the Kiwis registered a seven-wicket win.

Another Prithvi Shaw special was seen when Delhi Capitals locked horns with Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2019. Chasing 186 in Delhi, Shaw went after the bowlers from the outset and scored a brilliant knock. He smashed the likes of Lokie Ferguson and Kuldeep Yadav to get his side closer to the target. Unfortunately, he was dismissed for 99 in the penultimate over, and the match got tied. Nevertheless, Delhi held their nerves in the super-over and clinched the game.

64 vs Chennai Super Kings in 2020

Although the ongoing IPL season hasn't been great for Shaw, he has managed to play some impressive knocks. One of them came against MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings. Batting first at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Shaw looked positives as he didn't put a foot wrong against the new ball. He made impeccable use of the powerplay overs and scored a quick-fire half-century. As a result, DC posted 175/3 and went on to register a 44-run victory.

After the conclusion of IPL 2020, Shaw will travel to Australia for the four-match Test series. With Rohit Sharma out of the squad due to injury, the youngster is all but set to open Indian innings alongside Mayank Agarwal. However, it will be a character Test for Shaw as the trio of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc will spit venom in the pace-friendly Australian pitches.
