He was sold for the purple and gold army for a sum of Rs 20 lakhs and with this, the 48-year-old became the oldest player to be bought in the history of the Indian Premier League. No sooner the veteran cricketer was sold, the entire room broke into a round of applause. Pravin Tambe had played for Rajasthan Royals when he made a debut in the IPL back in 2013. He made his debut against Delhi Daredevils and became the oldest player in the history of the IPL. Tambe played with the team from Jaipur for a couple of seasons and then played for the Gujarat Lions in 2016.

In 2017 he played for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, the Mumbai spinner’s most memorable moment came in when he played for the Rajasthan Royals. He took a brilliant hat-trick against KKR on 5 May 2014 in Ahmedabad which earned him the man of the match award.
