The Pakistani Cricket Board earlier today stripped Sarfaraz Ahmed from captaincy and announced the new skippers for the team. Azhar Ali and Babar Azam would lead the team for Tests and T20I respectively. Ahmed was dropped from the upcoming series against Australia which begins on November 3rd, 2019. Just when the netizens were swallowing the fact, the PCB posted a tweet which was just a reply but came under the microscope for its bad timing. So here’s exactly what happened. So the official account of the World T20 announced about the sale of tickets starting. They also asked the followers if they are ready for the big dance. The Pakistani Cricket Board used a meme which had Azhar Ali dancing with joy in front of Sarfaraz Khan. While this appeared to be a simple reply from the PCB, the timing of the tweet was quite a controversial one. The PCB realised their folly and deleted the tweet.

Talking about the decision of dropping the wicket-keeper batsman, PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani while addressing the press said that it was quite a difficult decision to drop Ahmed and blamed him for the loss of confidence. "I want to congratulate Azhar Ali and Babar Azam on their elevations to the most coveted and prestigious jobs in cricket," Ehsan said. "It has been a difficult decision to drop Sarfaraz Ahmed, who has performed well as a player and a leader. But, his loss in form and confidence is visible and, in the best interest of the team, it has been decided to leave him out,” he said during the conference. Pakistan’s tour to Australia will begin from October 31 with a practice game. the Test series starts on November 21.
