Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has invited Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and other cricket boards around the world to watch the final Pakistan Super League 2019 (PSL 2019) in Karachi on March 17. Apart from boards, PCB has also sent an invitation to International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Shashank Manohar and Chief Executive David Richardson. As per a report in Daily Express, it is likely that BCCI will turn down the offer owing to current tension between India and Pakistan. It also appears that ICC chairman Shashank Manohar may not visit Pakistan. Interestingly, the report mentions that the invitation to BCCI and others was sent before the tension between India and Pakistan escalated.
Meanwhile, officials from Afghanistan, England, Ireland, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka are likely to witness the final of PSL 2019 in Karachi. After the United Arab Emirates (UAE) leg, the PSL 2019 has now shifted to Karachi. National Stadium in Karachi will host all the remaining matches including the playoffs and final. Earlier, Lahore was supposed to host some of the matches but after the broadcaster complained of logistical problems due to the closure of Lahore airport the matches were shifted to Karachi.
Apart from local players, the Pakistan leg of PSL 2019 will witness some of the prominent foreign players like Daren Sammy, Dwayne Bravo, Shane Watson, and Colin Munro.
