PBKS Retention List for IPL 2025: Check Purse Remaining and Players Retained by Punjab Kings Ahead of Mega Auction

The Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction is almost on the cards and the player retentions by the ten franchises have been announced. Here is a look at the list of all retained players by the Punjab Kings.

The list of players retained by the franchises ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction is now announced. Punjab Kings has also announced the list of retained players they want to keep with them ahead of the mega auction. The IPL governing council allowed the franchises to retain a maximum of six players. They also specified that a maximum of five capped players and two uncapped players can be retained.  PBKS has used their solid Indian core to the advantage and structured the retentions accordingly. Punjab Kings have undergone a change in their support staff recently. They have let go their head coach and director Trevor Bayliss and Sanjay Bangar and have appointed former Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting in his place. Ponting will be starting a new era in the PBKS team and for that he will look to a get a captain first. Holding on to a strong core from the previous resources is also important and the list of retentions will indicate how much PBKS wants to keep ahead of the mega auction.

List of Players Retained by Punjab Kings

1- Shashank Singh (Rs 5.5 crore)

2- Prabhsimran Singh (Rs 4 crore)

Purse Remaining: Rs 110.5 crore

Right to Match (RTM) cards Left: 4

Punjab Kings is one of four teams who are yet to win a title in the IPL. They have made to the playoffs very few times and the only time they entered the final they ended being the runner-up. In the recent IPL 2024, the story has not been different. Despite much promises PBKS ended up being a mid table team. Their only gain was some uncapped Indian players whom they could take forward as the face of the franchise.
