As quoted by Fox Sports, Pat Cummins said, “Watching the Olympics, it got us all excited. You want to be part of it right there in the middle. I’d love to be on that side (at LA28). I think I’ll be 35 or something, so hopefully still there or thereabouts. Honestly right now, it feels a long way away. Maybe once we get closer and start building into it, everyone gets a bit more excited." Following an extensive two-year process in which the Los Angeles 2028 Organising Committee (LA28) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) worked closely together, the decision was made to include cricket in the Olympics. Cricket will have both a men's and a women's tournament in LA 2028. The T20 format, which has greatly contributed to the sport's global rise in popularity, will be used for both competitions. Since Major League Cricket (MLC) began, cricket has expanded rapidly in the USA. In June, the T20 World Cup was co-hosted by the country for the first time. Undoubtedly, the lovely sport's fan base will grow when it returns to the Olympics.
