ZIM Win By Two Wickets | Pakistan vs Zimbabwe Highlights of 3rd T20I 2024: Brian Bennett, Tinotenda Maposa Help Hosts Get Consolation Victory

That's It! Woah, what a thrilling ending. With twelve runs needed in the final over Tinotenda Maposa hit a four and six in the first two balls of Jahandad Khan. With a single run needed off three balls, Jahandad struck to dismiss Tashinga Musekiwa. But Richard Ngarava came in and kept his nerves to take the hosts over the finishing line. A relieving and confidence boosting win for Zimbabwe, although the series was won 2-1 by Pakistan. 

Out! After hitting a boundary Wellington Masakadza is gone. Angled in on the stumps, Masakadza tries to go to the onside, misses and gets caught infront. 12 runs needed off the final over and it will be a difficult task for Zimbabwe. W Masakadza lbw b Abbas Afridi 6(4).

Out! All hopes are faultering for Zimbabwe. This time it is Sikander Raza who is dismissed. It short of length delivery on the stumps from Jahandad Khan, Raza makes room to pull and miscues it, straight down the throat of long on. Raza c Omair Yousuf b Jahandad Khan 19(20).

Zimbabwe needs 27 runs in three overs. Wouldn't have been an intimidating target if they didn't have half the side back in the hut already. Sikander Raza is still out there and is their last hope to take the side over the finishing line. 

Out! Zimbabwe are losing the plot here. Ryan Burl set off for a non existent run and by the time Sikander Raza sent him back it was too late for him. Out! Bowled him! Abbas Afridi beats Wessley Madhevere for pace. The latter fails to bring the bat down in time and the stumps go cartwheeling. Zimbabwe are in danger zone now and a slip up can make them lose the game. Abbas Afridi will be confident now. Madhevere b Abbas Afridi 7(7).

Out! Once again one wicket has brough two here. Dion Myers goes for the big shot by ends up hitting the delivery from Abbas Afridi straight to the fielder. Zimbabwe are close here but they have to be careful to not to lose the plot here. Dion Myers c Arafat Minhas b Abbas Afridi 13(18).

Out! Sufiyan Muqeem strikes in his second over. Brian Bennett was looking dangerous and Muqeem is finally able to send him back to the pavilion. Like the first T20I, Pakistan have allowed Zimbabwe to get off a good start in the powerplay. Considering the target, it can be a deciding factor in the game. Although Zimbabwe has historically faltered in the middle overs so the next five overs will be crucial here. 

Out! The captain strikes. Length delivery on middle, Tadiwanashe Marumani shuffles across, flicks in the air but can't keep it down. Square leg takes a good catch in the end. Good start for Zimbabwe but they have to be careful here. Marumani c Sahibzada Farhan b Salman Agha 15(6).

A decent final over for Pakistan where both the batters Arafat Minhas and Jahandad Khan got a six each. Considering the point Pakistan were when Salman Agha was dismissed, the tailenders did a good job. They have a total to bowl at and with Sufiyan Muqeem with them, Pakistan will be confident. 

Out! Abbas Afridi falls. Goes for a huge across the line shot but the ball from Richard Ngarava was a change of pace. Ended up being holed out at the deep. Abbas Afridi c Madhevere b Ngarava 15(14).

Not the most good looking with the bat but Arafat Minhas and Abbas Afridi have successfully accumulated some crucial runs. They have taken Pakistan over the mark of 100 runs and trying to get a strong finish to put up a competitive score. 

Out! Bad becomes worse for Pakistan. The only person who could have taken Pakistan to a competitive total is now dismissed through a run out. Salman Agha called for the run and failed to make it. Big trouble for visitors.  Salman Agha run out (Brian Bennett /Marumani) 32(32).

Not the best of the situations for Pakistan. They were in trouble with 19/3 early in the innings but at one point Tayyab Tahir and Qasim Akram looked like will take them out of the deep waters. Now with both dismissed the entire responsibility is on Salman Agha's shoulders. Arafat Minhas is trying to provide support. 

Out! The inevitable has struck and Pakistan are now in a deeper trouble. Akram was constantly looking to up the ante and Zimbabwe used that as an opportunity. Ryan Burl tossed up a delivery, much slower and Akram looked to drive and got the edge.  It was a good catch for Dion Myers. Another good over for the visitors but they would need more of that. Qasim Akram keeps counterattacking as he struck two boundaries in the 11th over bowled by Sikander Raza. A steady partnership with some occasional boundaries is what they are looking for now. 

Qasim Akram has started his innings with a boundary but at this moment Pakistan needs a partnership more than instant boundaries. They have tried the positive route early in the innings and lost wickets. Now Akram has to stay besides captain Salman Agha to take the score to a solid place. 

Out! Another one bites the dust for Pakistan. Tahir tries to get inside the line and hit Tinotenda Maposa on the onside but gets a big leading edge instead and the wicketkeeper ends up taking a simple catch in the end. Tayyab Tahir c Marumani b Tinotenda Maposa 21(14).

Not the best of starts for Pakistan as they have lost three wickets in the powerplay. Two were scalped by Blessing Muzarabani and one was taken by Wellington Masakadza. Pakistan were down to 19/3 and now Salman Ali Agha and Tayyab Tahir are looking to stitch a partnership. Sahibzada Farhan (4), Omair Yousuf (0) and Usman Khan (5) were the three batters dismissed.
