Pakistan put up a magnificent show in the opening Test against Sri Lanka and have certainly gained the upper hand in the match at Rawalpindi. At Stumps, the Lankan side were batting at 202-5 with Niroshan Dickwella and Dhananjaya de Silva on the crease, batting at 38 and 11 respectively. The ongoing clash is the Test on Pakistan soil after a decade and the home side didn’t disappoint. Earlier in the match, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. Skipper Dimuth Karunaratne and Oshada Fernando gave the visitors a good start and the duo added 96 runs for the first wicket. However, the Lankan batting line-up collapsed after their departure and Pakistan were back in the match. Naseem Shah bowled with hostility and was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets. The second day of the match will be crucial for both sides and could well decide the fate of the match.
