Last year, International Cricket Council (ICC) approved Afghanistan and Ireland as Full Members by handing them the Test status. And this year, both the newcomers will be playing their first-ever Test match. While Ireland takes on Pakistan this month, Afghanistan will face-off India in June. Ireland recently named their squad for the historic Test. William Porterfield, who was named as the captain, will become the first Ireland captain to lead the team in the game’s longest format.
Pakistan arrived in the United Kingdom (UK) last month and have played a couple of tour games as well. The visitors will be led by regular captain Sarfaraz Ahmed. Pakistan’s squad features four uncapped players Imam-ul-Haq, Fakhar Zaman, Saad Ali and Usman Salahuddin. Following the historic one-off Test against Ireland, Pakistan will take on England in the two-match Test series.
Pakistan vs Ireland Test Date and Venue
Pakistan vs Ireland Test will take place between 11-15 May 2018 at the Malahide Cricket Club Ground in Dublin. The venue, which apparently will host its first Test, has already hosted a number of ODIs and T20Is.
Pakistan vs Ireland Test Live Streaming and Telecast
Ireland’s historic first Test match against Pakistan will be telecast live on Sky Sports in the UK. In Pakistan, the Test match will be available on PTV Sports. As of now, no Indian broadcaster has been named. We will update you once it’s official. Though Sony Pictures Network India (SPN), which has acquired England cricket rights to broadcast in the Indian subcontinent, is likely to telecast the Test match.
