Pakistan will be the happy side at the end of Day 2 after three wickets in the final nine overs of the day. After Saud Shakeel's heroics with the bat, Noman Ali picked up two wickets while Sajid Khan was once again in the spotlight with a big wicket of Ben Duckett. During the 1st innings the middle order of England collapsed and the likes of Joe Root, Ben Stokes and others failed to lay some impact. Opening batsman Ben Duckett completed his half-century and Zak Crawley also contributed with his 29-run innings. Jamie Smith saved England's innings as he played a crucial knock of 89 runs before he fell prey to Zahid Mahmood. Gus Atkinson scored 39 runs and helped England add some more runs. Pakistan displayed a good display with the ball but the same cannot be said for their top order when they came into bat after bowling out the Three Lions.
Pakistan also lost some early wickets after coming into bat during their 1st innings on day 1. Shoaib Bashir, Jack Leach and Gus Atkinson took a wicket each to collapse the top order of the Pakistan National Cricket Team. Going into day 2 Pakistan will avoid giving their wickets away. England will be keen on taking early wickets so that they can take advantage over the hosts. Currently, the series is tied 1-1 and both teams will be desperate for a win.
