Pakistan have been in a poor run of form in Test cricket and it has been a long time, since they won a Test match and a series at home. To stop the tradition, they need to desperately win the second Test of the series against England at Multan. PCB has already taken some drastic measures to change things as they have opted to drop Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah and re-structure the playing XI with more spinners considering the Test match will be on used surface at the Multan Cricket Ground and there is chances that the ball with turn more.

England, meanwhile, have things going well for them as they have won the first Test match and taken a healthy lead of 1-0. Captain Ollie Pope has been doing a decent job in the Ben Stokes and the form of Ben Duckett, Joe Root and Harry Brook has been all the more reassuring. The certain doubts they had in mind initially was how an inexperienced seam attack would fare in Pakistan. But the likes of Brydon Carse and Gus Atkinson has shown that England bowling is on course too. With Stokes returning to action and all set to takeover captaincy from Pope, the objective would be to close down the series in their favour at Multan. PAK vs ENG 2nd Test 2024: Chris Woakes, Gus Atkinson Make Way for Ben Stokes, Matthew Potts in England’s Playing XI Against Pakistan.
