Unlike how the day ended, Pakistan had started well. Shaheen Afridi removed Rory Burns early in the match dismissing the left-handed batsman for the third time in this series. But in came Zak Crawley and the youngster shared a fine 61-run stand with Dominic Sibley to steady the innings after England had opted to bat first. Sibley was removed by Yasir Shah, who also dismissed Ollie Pope. Captain Joe Root stuck for a while before Naseem Shah got rid of him with a perfect length delivery. Pakistan had England reeling at 127/4 at one stage but Buttler and Crawley ensured there were no other casualties. They carried on and took the score past 330 runs.
