PAK 194/3 in 39.3 Overs | Pakistan vs Bangladesh Highlights of Asia Cup 2023: Haris Rauf, Batters Shine As Pakistan Clinch Victory in Super Four Opener

Pakistan started the chase cautiously. Bangladesh seamers-maintained discipline but despite losing three wickets, the batters of the host team kept their calm and Pakistan comfortably got over the winning line riding on half-centuries from Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan. Previously Haris Rauf set the base for the victory with his fiery four-wicket haul. 

After Imam-ul-Haq's dismissal, Mohammad Rizwan have took things in his hand and paced the innings beautifully to take Pakistan near to victory. The timely boundaries also help him get his half-century. 

Out!  Imam-ul-Haq tries the up the ante and falls to Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Imam tried to go big but the ball angled across and beat his inside edge to crash into the stumps. Bangladesh get the much wanted breakthrough but feels too late now. 

Imam-ul-Haq completes his half-century in style with a six. He has negotiated some quality spell of bowling and did not give in despite increased pressure. Mohammad Rizwan and Imam have released the pressure to much extent and will look for the win with definitive control. 

Out! Taskin Ahmed gets the big wicket of Babar Azam. They kept the pressure on and finally get the fruit of it. Taskin's delivery keeps low and Babar could not get his bat down in time, getting and inside edge which crashes on to the stumps. 

Shakib Al Hasan keeps continuing with his pacers in search of wickets. They were close twice, but the decisions could not be overturned as the balls just pitched outside leg stumps. Pakistan have seemingly negotiated the tough phase and will look to up the ante now. Bangladesh ends up losing both reviews.

Out! Bangladesh finally get the fruits of a disciplined spell as Shoriful Islam traps Fakhar Zaman in-front of the wicket. Pakistan started their innings cautiously but yet ultimately had to give in to the inspired efforts from the Bangladeshi seam attack. 

An unexpected interruption in the match as one of the floodlights has gone off and that has caused an interruption in play. Players going off the field as the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore is partly under darkness. It will take some time before being back on. 

Pakistan openers Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman are on the crease and they have started cautiously as they know they have a modest target in front of them which can achieved if they don't lose wickets quickly. 

Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah combine to take the last two wickets of Bangladesh and wrap their innings up within 200. Bangladesh had a poor start to their innings which was steadied by Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim but after Shakib's dismissal, the innings went downhill again and Haris Rauf's second spell put the final nail in their coffin. Pakistan will fancy themselves in this chase. 

Out! Haris Rauf comes back in his second spell and provides immediate impact. Fourth wicket for him in this game as he dismisses well set Mushfiqur Rahim and Taskin Ahmed in consecutive deliveries. Bangladesh are in trouble and now face the threat of getting bowled out. 

Out! Young Shamim Hossain gets carried way with his confidence as he attempts a flashy big shot, only ending up mistiming it and takes the way to the pavilion off a delivery of part-time spinner Iftikhar Ahmed. He looked confident attempting some gutsy shots, but ended up playing one too many. 

Till now in the innings, Mushfiqur Rahim's job has been to support Shakib Al Hasan, now with Shakib's dismissal, he has an added responsibility of batting deep so that others can play around him. He also completes his hafl-century now. 

Out! Shakib Al Hasan tries to up the ante and gets holed out in the deep. He tries to take on Faheem Ashraf in his first ball, gets a good connect but fails to clear the rope. Huge blow for Bangladesh and Pakistan go ahead in the game once again. 

Like always, Shakib Al Hasan has stepped up when Bangladesh were in a crisis situation losing early wickets, but he has stitched a very important partnership with Mushfiqur Rahim and took out Bangladesh out of the deep water. Along the way he completes his half-century. 

The partnership between Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim is going on well and at the moment, the two are doing a great job. Having lost four quick wickets, a lot rested on these two and they have stitched a 64-run stand which has resurrected Bangladesh's innings here. 

Bangladesh have had some sort of a partnership between two of their most experienced players--Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim. They would need these two players to carry on and build a solid partnership to take Bangladesh to a good total here. 

OUT! Haris Rauf has castled Towdin Hridoy! The Pakistan star bowled a ball that angled in a bit and missed the right-hander's bat and pad, with it going to crash onto the stumps. Bangladesh now have been completely rattled. Towhid Hridoy b Haris Rauf 2(9)

OUT! Haris Rauf gets into the act now and has dismissed Mohammad Naim in his very first over! He dug in a bouncer and Naim top-edged it while looking to play a pull shot. OUT! Shaheen Afridi has struck and removed the dangerous-looking Litton Das, who was starting to take the momentum away from Pakistan.
