Day 1 of the second Test match between Pakistan and Australia is turning out to be quite interesting. After winning the toss, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat. Imam- Ul- Haq who was injured, has been replaced by Fakhar Zaman and the limited overs player made a debut in Tests. However, it was Australia’s spinner Nathan Lyon who ripped the upper order of the Pakistani batting line-up. Lyon ripped through Pakistan’s batting line-up as he removed Azhar Ali (15), Haris Sohail (0), Asad Shafiq (0) and Babar Azam (0) in six balls.

Fakhar Zaman’s innings with Sarfraz Ahmed steadied the crumbling batting order of Pakistan. As of now, both batsmen are inching closer to their centuries. Talking about Nathan Lyon, the spinner now has 314 wickets in his kitty and has surpassed Mitchell Johnson, who was the highest Test wicket-taking bowler for Australia. Lyon is now only behind Shane Warne (708), Dennis Lillee (355), Glenn McGrath (563). Johnson also took to social media to congratulate the bowler for the feat.

As of now, Pakistan is now on the score of 204 runs for the loss of five wickets. Pakistan made a couple of changes in the squad whereas, Australia’s playing XI remained the same. Pacer Mir Hamza and Imam-ul-Haq were the ones who made way to the squad.
