Sajid Khan and Noman Ali Shine For Pakistan

The English team opted to bat first on a dry pitch at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. However, Sajid Khan and Noman Ali had different plans as the duo dismissed the top six English batters for a score of 112 runs in the first innings. However, Jamie Smith and Gus Atkinson put up a very important partnership and helped the English team register a score of 267 runs in the first innings. Smith missed out on a hundred and played an innings of 89 runs from 119 balls. Sajid Khan picked up a six-wicket haul followed by a three-fer from Noman Ali.

Apart from this contribution with the ball, Sajid Khan added important runs with the ball and played an innings of 48 runs from 48 balls, Noman Ali also chipped in with a 45-run innings. Rest of the Pakistan's batting also struggled to play against the England spinners in their first innings and were 155/6 at one point. Saud Shakeel proved to be the saviour for the hosts as he managed to play an innings of 134 runs from 223 balls. In the second inning though it was all Noman Ali and Sajid Khan, who helped their side dominate the match. The English team was expected to show a decent batting effort in its second innings but Sajid Khan and Noman Ali had different plans. The duo started to build pressure from the first ball and reduced England to 24/3 at the end of Day 2. The batting collapse continued on Day 3 as well as the visitors were rattled for 112 runs in the second innings. Noman Ali picked up a six-wicket haul followed by a four-wicket haul from Sajid Khan. In the end, Pakistan needed 35 runs to win the match which was chased down with ease by the hosts with nine wickets to spare.
