Chasing 164 runs, opener Saim Ayub played a match-winning knock of 82 off 71, including 11 boundaries. His partner Abdullah Shafique remained unbeaten on 52 runs. The duo stitched a 137-run partnership for the first wicket, which helped Pakistan secure a dominating victory over Australia in the second ODI.
Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi Dismantle Australian Batting Line-Up
Earlier in the match, Australian batters surrendered against Pakistan pacers Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi. Rauf picked up a five-wicket haul, whereas Shaheen took three scalps. Rauf took key wickets of Josh Inglis (18), Marnus Labuschagne (6), Aaron Hardie (14), Glenn Maxwell (16), and captain Pat Cummins (13) in his stunning spell, where the pacer just conceded 29 runs in eight overs. Left-arm speedster Shaheen removed openers Matthew Short (19) and Jake Fraser-McGurk (13) which gave a perfect start to the visitors. Shaheen claimed his third wicket by removing Adam Zampa, who made 18 runs. Australia were bundled out for just 163 runs.
Pakistan Openers Shine in Second ODI
While chasing 164, Pakistan opener Saim Ayub slammed 82, whereas Abdullah Shafique played a vital knock of 64 runs off 69 balls, including seven boundaries. Saim was removed by Adam Zampa in the 21st over. Babar Azam joined Shafique at the crease, and the duo took their side to a nine-wicket win without any hiccups. Babar remained not out on 15 runs.
