England vs Pakistan, T20 World Cup 2022 Final Highlights: Ben Stokes, Bowlers Help England Clinch Second Title

This is Ben Stokes' redemption story. From being hit for four consecutive sixes in the 2016 final, which saw England lose from the cusp of a win, Stokes has ensured that the Three Lions does not falter at the last hurdle this time, with a steely knock in what turned out to be a fascinating game of cricket. England are now the reigning champions in international limited-overs cricket and join West Indies, who too have two titles in their cabinet. Credit should also be given to Pakistan, especially the way they fought back hard with the ball after a not-so-good show with the bat in hand. Naseem Shah's injury was the moment when they lost control of the game and Stokes, along with Moeen Ali ensured that England had no more hurdles to cross. What a win this is! First ICC title for Jos Buttler, in his maiden tournament as captain! A win to remember for England. Pakistan did not give up and should be credited with this gritty performance. 

Ben Stokes does it! England have won the T20 World Cup 2022 title with a five-wicket win, in what was a thrilling game of cricket. Stokes soaked in all the pressure and hit the winning runs deservedly! England now become the only side to become the reigning champions in both 50-over and 20-over cricket!

England are knocking on the door towards their second T20 World Cup 2022 title. They are seeing off Haris Rauf and with only seven needed, one expects them to win it in this over itself. 

The game seems to slipping away pretty quickly from Pakistan's grip with both Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali hitting a flurry of boundaries. England are close to winning their second T20 World Cup title. Pakistan on the other hand, need to reintroduce Haris Rauf to give their last effort at this one. 12 off 18 needed! 

A game-changing over this as Stokes finally cuts loose and hits two boundaries. This has not only eased the pressure but also put England on top again. What a game this is turning out to be! Pakistan once again, under the pump.

Shaheen Afridi walks off the field because he was struggling with the injury he sustained earlier. It is a massive moment in the game and Pakistan have alloted Iftikhar Ahmed to fill in. 

Things are getting very tight out here and Pakistan are slowly building more pressure on England as the runs have somewhat dried up. Pakistan are continuing to pile on the pressure on England with young Naseem Shah doing well to keep both Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali in check. England need Stokes and Ali, both of whom are very experienced, to absorb some of the pressure. England would still feel that they are ahead but anything can happen at any stage in T20Is, at least that is what this tournament has taught us.

Pakistan are keeping the pressure on England and this contest is turning out to be a thriller. Pakistan have introduced Naseem Shah into the attack and the youngster is bowling at good pace, troubling both Harry Brook and Ben Stokes. Brook, who hit a good shot on the leg side, could not find a four courtesy of a sensational effort by Haris Rauf, who has managed to save a run for his side. Stokes has been beaten on several occasions by Shah here.  Pakistan need such efforts to build more momentum.

England are looking to build a partnership here with Harry Brook and Ben Stokes, with them ahead at the moment, despite having lost three wickets. Pakistan are not letting this chase get away and it would depend on this partnership on how England get through out of this phase in the game. 

What a powerplay it has been! England started positively but Pakistan have chipped away at the wickets column, dismissing the two big batters--Jos Buttler and Alex Hales. It is down to the experience of Ben Stokes, who is out there with young Harry Brook in the middle. 

OUT! A big wicket and it is Haris Rauf, who has dismissed Jos Buttler. The England captain was once again looking dangerous but Rauf, after getting Phil Salt earlier, has given Pakistan the big scalp of Buttler. Pakistan are not going down without a fight here! OUT! Phil Salt has been dismissed and Haris Raif has struck for Pakistan! Trying to take him on, Salt found Iftikhar Ahmed, who took a good catch. Jos Buttler and Phil Salt have fought back brilliantly with three fours after England were rocked in the first over with Shaheen Afridi dismissing Alex Hales. Buttler, especially has looked good so far and England would want him to stay on the crease to strengthen their grip on this game.

What an effort it has been from England, who have been clinical with the ball in hand. They never let Pakistan take control of their innings as they regularly chipped in with the wickets and hence, have been able to restrict Pakistan to just 137/8. England would be very happy and one has to believe that with their batting depth, it would not be a tough chase, despite the pitch having spin and bounce. Adil Rashid (2/22), Sam Curran (3/12) and Chris Jordan (2/27) were the best bowlers for England while Pakistan's top-scorer was Shan Masood with 38 runs.
