Hashim Amla is the fastest batsman worldwide to reach the landmark in ODIs. The South African took just 57 innings and is followed by Sir Viv Richards, who took 12 more innings to achieve the feat. Indian captain Virat Kohli took 75 innings to get there. Among Indian batsman, Shikhar Shawan is the fastest to reach 3000 ODI runs. He took 72 innings to reach the landmark.
The right-hander Roy has been in terrific form of late and scored 54 off 53 deliveries to rebuild the England innings after fellow opening batsman Jonny Bairstow was dismissed for a duck in just the second ball of the innings. Roy and Joe Root were involved in a 106-run partnership. In the last 12 months, Roy has scored 986 runs in 20 ODI matches with four centuries. He also averages 51.89 in that period. In his overall career, Roy has eight centuries from 77 matches.
