Pakistan is continuing its legacy of providing the sensational fast bowlers. Last year we saw how Hassan Ali announced his arrival during the ICC Champions Trophy. Now another name has joined the list of formidable Pakistan fast bowling department and he is Mohammad Abbas. The right-arm medium-fast bowler, who hails from Sialkot, has made a mark in a seven-match Test career. Abbas thus far has picked 38 wickets, which includes two five-fors, and is going strong. Abbas was instrumental in restricting England to just 184 in the first innings of Lord’s Test. The pacer returned figures of 4/23 as he kept England batsmen on their toes. In the second innings of England, Abbad scalped two important wickets of Alastair Cook and Joe Root to put the home side under further pressure. The 28-year-old fast-bowler has even reminded fans of notorious Mohammad Asif, who was known for his swing. Abbas, who is now a regular member of Pakistan Test side, made his debut last year in April against Windies and impressed everyone with 15 wickets in three matches. Abbas, however, has not featured in white ball cricket for Pakistan yet.

Meanwhile, Pakistan continues to dominate the proceedings at Lord’s after bowling out the hosts for a paltry score. In response to 184, Pakistan scored 363 and took a valuable lead of 179 runs with Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Babar Azam and Shadab Khan scorning half-centuries.

England continued to struggle against Pakistan bowling in the second innings as well and were reduced to 110 for six. At the time of filling this story, England were trailing by 48 runs with just four wickets in hand.
