Manchester, July 9: The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Tuesday declared the Old Trafford stadium a 'No Fly Zone' for India's semifinal clash against New Zealand. The decision has been taken by the ECB, after consultation with the local authorities, as a private plane displayed anti-India banners during the team's league encounter against Sri Lanka in Headingley.

Informing about the latest development, a BCCI official informed, as quoted by PTI, We had clearly stated about the breach of security and also raised concerns about the security of our players. Accordingly, ECB has sent a confirmation to CEO Rahul Johri that Old Trafford air space has been turned into a 'No Fly Zone' for the day." Earlier on Saturday, an unnamed private aircraft flew from Bradford zone during the India-Sri Lanka match with banners like 'India stop Mob Lynching' and 'Justice for Kashmir'. This was the second such incident after similar aircraft flew with the banner "Justice For Balochistan" during the game between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

With security breach being a problem for the ICC and the embarrassment served as an additive, the apex Cricket Control body has taken the move and now no flights will fly over the Old Trafford stadium till India and New Zealand's match is on.
