Mumbai, February 22: There will be no Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 opening ceremony this year. Instead, the amount that was supposed to be spent will be donated to the families of Pulwama martyred soldiers, said Vinod Rai, BCCI CoA Chief. The IPL Governing Council recently announced the schedule for IPL Season 12 which will kick start on March 23rd 2019. However, the schedule is subject to change keeping in mind the upcoming Lok Sabha election 2019.
The first match will be played between IPL 11 winners Chennai Super Kings and Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai. The second game will be played in Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad at 4.00 PM.
