MS Dhoni can be labelled as one of the most destructive batsmen in the shorter format of cricket. With 6075 runs in 297 T20s, MS Dhoni is unarguably one of the best T20 players in the world. The former Indian captain has an amazing strike rate of 136.18 and it wouldn’t be wrong to say that his attacking game has changed the results of many T20 and ODI matches. Ditto with New Zealand’s Ross Taylor who started his career in 2006 i.e. the same year when Dhoni started his T20 cricketing career. Now the Kiwi batsman has broken MS Dhoni's record of hitting the most number of sixes in T20.

Taylor is currently playing for Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League. Ahead of playing against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Taylor and MS Dhoni’s record was equal. But now, Taylor has 271 sixes in 248 matches. Whereas Dhoni has smashed 267 sixes in T20 till date. With this, he is world number 12 for hitting the most number of sixes in T20.

Suresh Raina is on the 11 position for hitting 299 sixes in the ODIs. India’s Rohit Sharma is currently placed on number 7 with 313 sixes in the ODI. Sharma holds the record for hitting the maximum number of sixes amongst the Indians. Universe Boss, Chris Gayle holds the record of most number of sixes in T20. With 857 sixes in 338 matches, Gayle is the only batsman to get more than 10,000 runs in T20 format. He has 11,599 runs in the format. Gayle's Caribbean teammate Keiron Pollard is on number two with 320 sixes in T20.
