New Zealand Women’s cricketer Rosemary Mair scripted history when she pulled off a double hat-trick in an inter-district match in New Zealand. Mair, who has so far represented the White Ferns in three ODIs and T20Is each, finished with figures of four overs, four maidens and four wickets. In a rare and incredible feat, Mair had not conceded a single run in any of her four overs. The 21-year-old pacer achieved the feat during a 40-over match between HBCA, Indigo Senior Women's vs Taranaki Women in Shrimpton Trophy. Mair was playing for Indigo Women when she produced this remarkable feat of 4-4-0-4. Smriti Mandhana Scripts History, Becomes Fastest Indian Women Cricketer to Score 2000 ODI Runs.

Mair achieved the feat in her second over of Taranaki Women’s innings after HBCA posted 263/9 in 40 overs having won the toss and opting to bat first. Mair, who opened the bowling for HBCA, bowled a maiden first over before rattling the opposition an over later. The 21-year-old fast bowler clean bowled Taranaki’s opening batswomen Jess Holland in the first delivery of the third over before doing the same to Aimee Wisenewski in the very next ball.  Meghalaya Spinner Nirdesh Baisoya Equals Anil Kumble’s 10 Wickets in an Innings Record, Achieves Feat in U-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy.

Jordan Bolgar was caught plumb in front of the wicket to help Mair complete a career first hat-trick before she went a step ahead and sent Kate Baxter’s stumps flying to achieve the incredible feat of taking a double hat-trick without even conceding a single run.

This wasn’t the first time a double hat-trick was taken in first-class cricket but Mair’s feat of taking four wickets, without conceding a single run, is certainly a first in any-forms of cricket.
