The New Zealand women's national cricket team registered an eight-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024. Amelia Kerr and Georgia Plimmer turned out to be the star of the win for the white ferns as both the players performed well and played an important role in helping the team win the match. 

The New Zealand women's national cricket team has defeated Sri Lanka by a margin of eight wickets. Amelia Kerr hit the winning runs for her side and remained unbeaten on 34 runs from 31 balls. The Kiwi team registered its second win of the tournament which is very important to keep their hopes alive of making it into the semifinals.

The Kiwi openers Georgia Plimmer and Suzie Bates have ensured that New Zealand don't lose any wicket in the powerplay and both the batters have added 35 runs in the first six overs.

Despite losing an early wicket, the Sri Lankan side has managed to keep the scoreboard moving. Led by Chamari's aggressive play, the Asian side now has 59 runs on the board in 10 overs and a great chance to cross 150-run mark if they continue playing like this. 

As expected Chamari Athapaththu is leading her side with a solid batting batting performance. the all-rounder who struggled in the tournament so far is playing some confident shots and look to hand her side a challenging total to defend.
