Pakistan have withdrawn 16-year-old fast-bowler Naseem Shah from their squad for the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2020, which begins from January 17 in South Africa. Mohammad Wasim Jr will now replace Naseem in the squad. Naseem has featured in three Tests for Pakistan, and he recently scalped a five-wicket haul against Sri Lanka in Karachi to help his side win a Test. The pacer will stay with the senior team and will prepare for the scheduled home series against Bangladesh.
Pakistan will open their U-19 World Cup campaign against Scotland on January 19 and then will face Zimbabwe on January 22 and Bangladesh on January 24 respectively.
