How Did MS Dhoni's Six Changed the Match for Chennai Super Kings?
Chennai Super Kings were well in the match until MS Dhoni smashed a six out of the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on the first ball of the 20th over. The umpires changed the wet ball from a new one which was dry and easier to ball. MSD tried to hit six on the very next ball, but he mistimed it and was caught by Swapnil Singh. This wicket changed the whole flow of the match and Chennai Super Kings were only able to score one run from the next four balls. Yash Dayal Picks MS Dhoni’s Wicket As Game-Changing Moment for RCB vs CSK IPL 2024 Match
Many fans on social media, especially Royal Challengers Bengaluru wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik have claimed that the change of ball was the turning point of the match. Karthik gave the statement when he was speaking to his teammates in the dressing room after the RCB vs CSK IPL 2024 match.
Logically, the change of balls might have been a turning point as before it was wet and the RCB bowlers weren't able to grip it properly. The players asked the umpires many times to change but it was declined. However, once the new ball came it became pretty easier to execute the slower ball or the yorker which may have become the biggest turning point of the match.
