MS Dhoni pulled off a brilliant one-handed stunner to remove danger man Carlos Brathwaite during the IND vs WI game in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. This was a day after Sarfaraz Ahmed has taken a similar catch in the PAK vs NZ game. Both these catches will certainly go down as two of the best catches of CWC 2019, which has already seen a host of other top catches being taken – Right from when Ben Stokes plucked one from thin air against South Africa on the opening day of the tournament. The panel that decides on the best catch of CWC 2019 will certainly have a tough time but for now, fans were busy debating on which catch was the better one – the MS Dhoni stunner or Sarfaraz Ahmed’s blinder of a take. India vs West Indies, ICC CWC 2019 Stats.
Chasing 269 to keep themselves alive in the competition, West Indies had already lost five wickets for 98 runs when Brathwaite arrived at the crease. He had rescued the Caribbean team from a similar situation against New Zealand in their previous game and fearing the same, Indian skipper Virat Kohli summoned Jasprit Bumrah into the attack. India vs West Indies Highlights.

Bumrah’s first ball was a back of length delivery which Brathwaite chased but only managed to edge it. The ball looked to be travelling in the gap region between the wicket-keeper and wide-slip cordon when Dhoni leapt to his right and took a one-handed stunner to all but end West Indies’ hopes of mounting any comeback in the game. Brathwaite walked back for just 1 run from 5 deliveries.
Sarfaraz Ahmed had taken a blinder to remove Ross Taylor in the ninth over the New Zealand innings. Pakistan required a victory to stay in the tournament and they were given a perfect start by their bowlers. Youngster, Shaheen Afridi, who had by then claimed two of three New Zealand wickets to fall was bowling the ninth over. New Zealand vs Pakistan Highlights.

Afridi bowled a length delivery moving away from Taylor but the experienced Kiwi got a thick inside-edge. The ball was moving towards the first-slip cordon but Sarfaraz dived full-length to his right to pull off a one-handed stunner. Taylor departed for 3 runs off 8 deliveries. The debate of which catch was the better one and which was easier to take has already caused a big stir on Twitter. Fans are divided and so are the opinions. But both were spectacular catches and came in important moments of the game that eventually led to the victories of both India and Pakistan.

Both are Incomparable! Fair Enough?
Both catches are a result of quick reflexes.
I won't call it a fluke coz it is the result of years of hard work plus a smattering of good luck.
I give 90/100 to both. We don't have to choose one over the other.
Well done @msdhoni & @SarfarazA_54 pic.twitter.com/7aKCMWkDsZ

Dhoni Has Better Fitness. Sarfaraz is Old?
Apart from that superb effort, its Dhoni's fitness that stands out! An older ma, but he rose much faster to his feet. Sarfaraz had to be helped up! #Dhoni

The Definite Difference Between the Two Was This?
One is a full dive (flying catch), another isn't (Sarfaraz's knee is bent), hence he didn't cover the length Dhoni covered. Reaction after te catch too depicts the fitness of the two. Both catches aren't even comparable.

Meanwhile, India jumped to second in the team standings with the 125-run big victory over West Indies. The men in blue have 11 points from six games and need another victory to secure their place in the semi-finals.
Pakistan are placed sixth with seven points from seven matches and needs to win both of their remaining two league games, while also depending on other results, to have any chances of sneaking into the semis.
