Mohammed Shami and Sanju Samson failed the mandatory Yo-Yo test and both were dropped from their respective squads. Now, ahead of the England series, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli appeared for the Yo-Yo test in Bengaluru. Other players who made to the England squad too appeared for the test at the National Cricket Academy. It was Anil Kumble who made it mandatory for the players to undergo the test.

Players who gained oodles of weight look fit and in shape. Indian skipper Virat Kohli is a fitness freak and his Instagram posts videos and even promotes fitness. Today, at the yo-yo Kohli looked comfortable shuttling back and forth. MS Dhoni was batting in the same nets. Batsman Kedar Jadhav, who was down with hamstring during the start of the IPL, too was in the nets.

As per ANI, “MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and other players selected for limited overs series with England undergo Yo-Yo Endurance Test at National Cricket Academy as per the BCCI sources.”

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had announced that Kohli would have his fitness test on June 15. "Team India Captain Mr Virat Kohli suffered a neck injury while fielding during Match 51 of the VIVO IPL between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad on 17th May 2018 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Mr Kohli, who was scheduled to play for Surrey CCC in the month of June, has been ruled out from participating (sic)," BCCI had said last month.
