New Delhi, April 12: Cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni has sued the Amrapali Group for Rs 150 crores citing non-payment of dues. Dhoni was the brand ambassador of the real estate firm for close to six years. This adds to the trouble of the Amrapali group which is already dealing with legal cases for not proving accommodation and flats to its customers. Several projects of the real estate firm are lying unfinished in cities across India due to financial crisis.

The former Indian captain's sports management firm- Rhiti Sports (Dhoni is a co-partner in the firm), which also manages Suresh Raina and Faf du Plessis among others, has filed a suit in the Delhi High Court reported the Economic Times. Arun Pandey, the managing director of Rhiti Sports was quoted saying by the Economic Times that  “They haven't given us money for branding and marketing activities,” and claimed that the firm had not paid them anything.

Dhoni resigned as the brand ambassador of Amrapali around two years back. Angry customers of Amrapali firm, who had alleged that they were not given the possession of flats as promised by the firm, had trolled Dhoni on Twitter by tagging him in tweets that asked the cricketer to either help them or cut ties with the brand. Finally, as alleged by Dhoni and Rhiti sports, not receiving the fee as brand ambassador even two years after giving up status, Dhoni has decided to take legal action against the reality firm which is already in trouble as mentioned above.
