But it was during the ODI series against Australia that MS Dhoni found his form and went on to hit three back to back fifties and bagged the Man of the Series award. Having batting twice against in the series against New Zealand, MS Dhoni’s rose three spots on the ICC ODI Rankings charts. “Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has moved up three places to 17th position during a run, which includes three consecutive half-centuries for a player of the series award against Australia,” read the media release of the ICC. Dhoni has 836 points in his kitty. Virat Kohli who is currently on a break continued to maintain his numero uno position on the ICC Charts with 911 points. The Indian captain enjoys the batting average of 59.50. Whereas, Rohit Sharma features on number two with 883 points with an average of 47.60.
Talking about the bowlers, Yuzvendra Chahal rose one place and now features on number 5 of the ICC ODI Rankings. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also moved six places higher and is now on number 17. New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult surged to third in the rankings for bowlers. The pacer finished the series against Indian with 12 wickets in his kitty, which culminated in Wellington on Sunday with a 4-1 victory for the visiting side.
