MS Dhoni’s fan base is arguably the biggest in contemporary cricket. Often we see fans breach the security system to meet Dhoni. During the recently concluded India vs Australia One-Day International (ODI) series, a fan at Nagpur managed to enter the field to meet Dhoni as team India players were heading to the middle. Now during the Chennai Super Kings’ practice match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium ahead of Indian Premier League 2019 (IPL 2019), Dhoni was once again chased by a fan. The CSK captain, however, once again played a hide and seek with the fan before security officials got hold of him.
Dhoni then obliged the fan with a handshake as he was shooed away by CSK officials present at the venue. CSK’s official Twitter handle later shared the video of the incident. Last season CSK returned to action after a two-year suspension. The fans unfortunately missed out on CSK’s home games after the matches were shifted from Chennai to Pune following Cauvery Management Board row. Only one CSK match was possible at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Super Kings then went on to win the IPL 2019 title. Fans are now eagerly waiting for the upcoming season.
