Meanwhile, this was the first time India clean swept a Test series over South Africa. India beat South Africa by 203 runs in the first Test at Visakhapatnam before also crushing them by an innings and 137 as well as by an innings and 202 runs in the following two games to complete a 3-0 victory.
The series victory – India’s second consecutive Test series win – also strengthened India’s stay at the top of the ICC World Test Championship points table. India, after five Test matches, have 240 points. New Zealand, on second, are 180 behind with three fewer games.
