A fan breached the security and ran on the pitch to meet MS Dhoni. The fan had the Indian Tricolour in his hand and he bent ahead to touch Mahi's feet. Little did the fan realise that the flag would touch the ground. The 37-year- old saw this and ensured that the flag did not touch the ground. Within a fraction of a second, Mahi took away the national flag from his hand. The video of the incident went viral and was shared on social media. Check it out below.

Talking about the match, India was chasing an improbable total of 212 runs. The visitors won the toss and elected to field. The Kiwi batsmen bamboozled the Indian bowlers by hitting them all over the park. Krunal and Hardik Pandya jointly gave away 98 runs from 48 deliveries. The series ended with Kiwis winning the game 2-1.
