During the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs Mumbai Indians (MI) Indian Premier League 2018 (IPL 2018) match at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, MS Dhoni added another feather in his cap. The wicketkeeper-batsman became the first captain, in IPL’s history, to lead in 150 matches. Apart from captaining CSK right from the inaugural season, Dhoni captained now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) in the 2016 edition. He was removed as RPS’ captain for the 2017 edition of IPL. However, with CSK back in the league, Dhoni made a comeback as skipper. MS Dhoni or Chris Gayle, Who's The Real Universe Boss?

Under Dhoni’s leadership, Super Kings have won two IPL titles. CSK became the first side two win back to back IPL trophies in 2010 and 2011. Besides it, the Dhoni-led side also finished as runners-up on four occasions (2008, 2012, 2013 and 2015). In fact, under Dhoni, CSK also won Champions League T20 tournament, now-defunct, twice in 2010 and 2014.

Meanwhile, in the ongoing season of IPL, CSK are off to an impressive start. The Men in Yellow have thus far won five out of six matches. Dhoni himself has been in good form and has scored 209 runs in six games. In CSK’s five-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy, Dhoni smashed match-winning unbeaten 70 off just 34 balls. He bailed out CSK from trouble and helped his side chase daunting 206. Besides it, Dhoni scored unbeaten 79 against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) when he almost singlehandedly won the match for CSK.

Not just in IPL, Dhoni’s success as a captain of Indian cricket team is a known fact as well. He is the only captain to win all ICC World Cup, ICC World T20 and ICC Champions Trophy. He also led India to numero uno Test position for the first time in 2009.
