Mokit Hariharan Bowls Using Both Arms in TNPL 2018, Becomes India's Second Ambidextrous Bowler, Watch Video

Chennai, July 23: It has become a common sight to see batsmen scoring and even hitting sixes by playing opposite handed shots after "switch-hit" became a norm on the international cricket circuit. But it is still a rear sight to see a bowler bowl with both the hands (ambidextrous) and being adapt at bowling with both the arms. Indian spinner Mokit Hariharan achieved this rear feat on Sunday while playing for the third edition of Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL), 2018.

Playing for the VB Kanchi Veerans team in the third edition of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2018, Mokit Hariharan displayed his ambidextrous skills to all when he bowled with both his hands. The spinner bowled left-arm spin when a right-handed batsman was on strike, and bowled using his other arm when a left-handed batsman took the crease.  Here is the video of the bowler bowling from both the hands:

His had an ordinary bowling spell as he gave away 32 runs in his quota of 4 over, with no wicket to his name. But he more than contributed with the bat as he scored 77 runs for his team and remained not out. It was thanks to his batting effort, that his team set a target of 167 runs for the Dindigul Dragons. But the total was not enough as the Dragons won the match, successfully chasing down the total.

The other player blessed with this ability in India is Akshay Karnewar. Akshay plays for Vidarbha in domestic cricket. He had bowled with both his arms against Australia in the practice game, playing for Board President's XI in Chennai in 2017. Kamindu Mendis from Sri Lanka is also known to have possess this rare talent.
