Mohammed Shami in Trouble Ahead of Asia Cup 2023! Court Orders Indian Fast Bowler to Get Bail Within 30 Days, Based On Estranged Wife Hasin Jahan's Appeal

India is all set to travel to Sri Lanka for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 starting from August 30. This is also the last platform for team India to hone their skills ahead of the mega event ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in October. One of India's bowling mainstays has been Mohammed Shami who has shown great form in white-ball cricket recently and might be a trump card for the Indian cricket tournament in the upcoming continental competition. Although reports suggest that he might find some trouble ahead of participation in the Asia Cup 2023 following a court order. Mohammed Shami's Estranged Wife Hasin Jahan Moves Supreme Court Seeking Removal of Stay Order On Indian Cricketer's Arrest Warrant.

As reported by Aaj Tak, according to the appeal made by Hasin Jahan, court has asked Mohammed Shami and his brother Mohammed Hasib to get bail within 30 days. The order might prove problematic for Shami as he is all set to be on the road in the next month playing in the Asia Cup 2023. Jahan filed a case of cruelty and assault against Shami in 2018. She alleged her that Shami assaulted her after she protested against the cricketer for allegedly having extra-marital affair. Shami and his elder brother Hasib where questioned by the Kolkata Police's Women's grievance cell and an arrest warrant was used against the cricketer by the Alipore Police station. Hasin moved the Supreme Court in May, 2023, challenging the Kolkata High court order which invalidated her plea seeking to remove the stay on the arrest warrant against her husband issued by a local court. In the petition to Supreme Court, Hasin has alleged that Shami was having illicit relations with prostitutes during his BCCI tours . She also informed the court that from last 4 years, the trial has not progressed and has remained stayed.
