An arrest warrant was issued against Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami and his brother by an Alipore Court in Kolkata based on the charges of domestic violence filed by Shami’s estranged wife Hasin Jahan. The Indian fast bowler and his brother has been given a 15 days’ notice to surrender themselves. Kolkata Court Issues Arrest Warrant Against Mohammed Shami

The arrest for Shami and his brother was issued after the cricketer failed to turn up before the court despite being issued a notice to appear. In June 2018, Shami was accused by his wife Hasin Jahan of domestic violence. Following the allegations, Kolkata police had booked the cricketer for domestic violence under IPC Section 498A.

Meanwhile, Shami has continued his fine form with the Indian cricket team ever since returning from an injury earlier this year. He scripted a historic feat of becoming only the second bowler to take a hat-trick at the Cricket World Cup. Shami's hat-trick in CWC 2019 came against Afghanistan ins a league stage game.
