Veteran Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi has decided to retire from One Day Internationals (ODI) after the conclusion of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to be played in Pakistan. Nabi's ODI retirement decision comes after Afghanistan won the opening ODI of the three-match series by 92 runs against Bangladesh in Sharjah. After the match, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) posted a video where Nabi said he is willing to retire from ODI cricket after the Champions Trophy 2025. The veteran cricketer made his ODI debut in 2010 against Ireland. Since then, Nabi has played 165 ODIs and scored 3549 runs at a decent average of 27.30. The right-handed batter has notched up 17 half-centuries and two centuries in the ODI till now. In 2019, Nabi retired from Test cricket to prolong his limited-overs career.

Nabi is one of the greatest cricketers from Afghanistan and continues to hold an important position in the team. Apart from ODIs, the all-rounder has represented Afghanistan in three Tests and 129 T20Is.
